Description
The Berghaus Munro Pack has long been the go-to for anyone after a lightweight, durable, no-frills rucksack. It’s also one of the most popular platforms for tailoring — a simple, minimal pack from the factory, but with huge scope for mods, additions and customisation.
That’s exactly why we built the Multicam Scout Pack: we’ve taken the Munro platform as a base and pre-tailored it with the most requested modifications, so you get a fully kitted-out pack in the pattern that matters most — Multicam — right out of the box.
What’s included on the Multicam Scout Pack:
- Mesh side pockets
- MOLLE front panel
- Rubber hydration port
- Mesh backing panel
- Mesh pocket under the lid
- Sternum strap
In short, the Multicam Scout Pack is a pre-tailored build on the trusted Berghaus Munro platform, finished in Multicam and loaded with all the mods people usually have to request separately. No waiting, no sending off a bare rucksack for custom work — just order and go. Built from the same 500D Nylon and UTX buckles used across the rest of the Kitpimp Multicam lighrweight range, so you’re getting full durability alongside the Multicam IRR finish.
Basically the Kitpimp Scout Pack is a pre-tailored pack based on the Berghaus Munro Platform with all the generally asked for mods and additions usually wanted in a tailored mini-platform, all ready to go, no waiting time, no need to purchase a seperate rucksack and send it, just a quality item made from the same 500D Nylon and UTX buckles as the rest of our range.
The rucksack itself is made from 500D fabric which makes it hard wearing, meeting the same quality as Cordura fabrics, offers exceptional durability and resistance to wear and tear and abrasion proof, the rucksack itself can be continually waterproofed with a DWR compliant spray.
The back of the rucksack is mesh lined for consistent airflow for more comfort during fast moving contacts and the shoulder straps are also padded and widened for comfort when shouldering the weight, a sternum strap has been added for comfortable retention.
In 500D Multicam Nylon and featuring IRR PU coated nylon wth a durable water repellant finish, for military use which reduces the visibility under night vision devices.

The Berghaus Munro was a design built to Last
When it comes to durable, dependable packs, few names carried as much weight as the Berghaus Munro. Originally designed for military use, this 35-litre rucksack became a trusted companion for soldiers, mountaineers, and outdoor enthusiasts alike. Its reputation is built on simplicity, strength, and functionality – making it a true classic in the world of backpacks.
The evolution of the design of the Berghaus Munro? Our design here is a compact, no-nonsense rucksack with a 35-litre capacity. First issued to the British military, it was designed to handle the toughest conditions. Unlike many modern packs overloaded with zips, gadgets, and compartments, its refreshingly minimalist. Its clean design makes it both practical and extremely hard-wearing.
Key features include:
- 35L capacity – ideal for day missions, hillwalking, or short trips.
- Durable materials – constructed from abrasion-resistant nylon.
- Simplicity of design – one main compartment, plus a top lid pocket.
- Robust carry system – padded shoulder straps and adjustable chest/waist straps.
- Compression straps – to keep the load stable.
Why the Berghaus Munro Stands Out
What makes the Berghaus Munro rucksack special was its proven history. It’s a pack that has literally been to warzones, scaled mountains, and endured decades of rough use. While many packs chase trends, the Munro’s design has remained largely unchanged – because it works.
Minimalist Efficiency
With just one main compartment, the Munro forces you to pack smart. This simplicity reduces failure points (like broken zips or unnecessary compartments) and makes it easier to organize with dry bags or packing cubes.
Durability Over Decades
The 500D Nylon gives 10–20 years without significant wear. The heavy-duty nylon, reinforced stitching, and strong buckles mean this pack can withstand everything from heavy rain to rocky scrambles.
Who was the Berghaus Munro For?
The Berghaus Munro 35L was perfect for:
- Military personnel who need a reliable patrol pack.
- Mountaineers and climbers who want a tough, lightweight companion.
- Hikers who prefer simple gear over overly technical designs.
- Bushcrafters and survivalists who need durability in the field.
It’s not the pack for everyone – if you want lots of compartments, built-in hydration systems, or ultra-lightweight construction, the Munro may feel too stripped back. But if you value toughness and a proven track record, it’s hard to beat – hence the time for an upgrade…
The Kitpimp Scout Pack Pack isn’t just a rucksack – it’s a piece of outdoor and military history. Built to last, trusted by professionals, and perfect for those who value durability over gimmicks, it continues to earn its place as one of the most respected packs on the market.
Whether you’re heading into the hills, deploying in the field, or just want a backpack that won’t let you down, this is a ready to go solution.
