The main difference in 500D Multicam vs 1000D Multicam is weight, flexibility and durability. 500D Multicam is generally lighter and more flexible, while 1000D Cordura is typically heavier, stiffer and better suited to heavy-duty equipment. Multicam is the camouflage pattern; 500D refers to the fabric’s denier rating, with our evolving range of products in the Multicam range there is requirement to balance cost vs practability, 500D simply won’t be a suitable choice for use in large military grade rucksacks needing maximum ambrasion resistance and 10000D wouldn’t be a suitable choice for military belt kits where 500D will be sufficient and lighter.
MultiCam as a pattern was developed to effectively reduce the visual and near-IR signature of a person operating in a wide range of environments, intended to be used in every area of operation.
