Well the long and short of it it is due to the introducton of Virtus kit the much beloved model of the PLCE Infantry Bergen mostly being the shortback and longback variants are pretty much thinning out… no need to take our word for it, go and look online, see eBay, facebook, your local disposals store… it’s more or less dissapearing from circulation now that it is considered obsolete.
It’s becoming more and more hard to outsource a decent condition bergen from surplus to take to a place like Dragon Supplies, Jay Jays of Brecon, Troopers of Colchester, Dixies Corner and other places where the most popular mods are done and usually the ones you will see online are more or less completely knackered… broken clips, broken zips, names on the kit, heavily discoluring, and very hard to come by one in gleaming condition… and those aren’t cheap.
The issued PLCE bergen was a lovely piece of kit back in the day but the days of finding brand new ones to send off to other high street retailers are over, so we just simply decided to roll our own out which featured virtually all of the most common mods requested and it’s all here in one package, and they are now as bomb proof as the PLCE kit before them!
